How YOU doin'?
Hoping that all of you are enjoying your summer. It is a time to rest, relax and enjoy the beautiful weather that Minnesota has to offer. Summer, for me, brings much needed rest and energy which allows me to get my creative juices flowing and work on projects for the upcoming school year. My passion for my work does not fade during June, July and August...it takes on a different form that's all! Looking forward to a new school year more than ever. If you want to contact me over the summer...please feel free to do so at- shawn.gombos@isd742.org or 253-1600 #2005. See you all soon! Yippee

What Does Mrs. G Believe About Discipline?
I believe that....
*All children should be treated fairly, but not all children should be treated the same.
*Discipline should not look the same for every student.
*Reaching the end goal looks different for everyone.
*"One size fits all" discipline should not exist.
*You can stand within an environment of mistrust, but you just can't dance.
*"To many people, discipline means punishment. But actually, to discipline means "to teach." Rather than punishment, discipline should be a positive way of helping and guiding children to achieve self control" Natl PTA
*With every conversation we have with students, for every consequence that is given, it is always our intent to help students grow, mature and realize that they, indeed, have all the power and control over their actions, thoughts and emotions. We work diligently to encourage students to make sense of their world, see things from all perspectives and trust and believe in themselves to make the right decisions. The beauty of our work is the "promise" we see in each and every student we meet. We believe with all of our hearts that these young people have ALL the potential to bring their gifts to the world as was intended for them to do.
