Fourth Grade Teacher - Talahi

OUR CLASS

Our class is a community unto itself as well as part of a larger community within Talahi Elementary. My priority is to make it a "safe," warm and welcoming environment so that all students may learn in as relaxing a manner as possible. The students will be expected to always do their very best - in academics as well as behaviors.
WE WILL ALSO HAVE FUN!
Monthly parties celebrating achievements and field trips to learn more about science or history are included in our curriculum.

ASSIGNMENTS

READ
HAVE FUN
BE RESPECTFUL
SHOW KINDNESS

Our Word of the Week:  Tolerance

Please remember to sign your child's homework folder each night so that they have the chance to update you on classroom events and assignments.

All students must read 2 A/R books a month at their reading level and pass the tests with at least 70% correct. A book with 250 pages qualifies as 2 books. A book with at least 400 pages qualifies as 3 books. The A/R tests reflect that as well. The other option would be book reports which should be done according to the guidelines each student has been given.

Practice: MULTIPLICATION MATH FACTS, ONES THROUGH NINES.

READING: Read to self at least twenty minutes every day at home out of a "just right" book; read aloud for ten minutes.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES: Uganda studies

END OF THE MONTH PARTY: All students need to have read two books at their level and passed A/R tests with at least 70% every month, as well as needing to have all homework completed and turned in on time.
