			Language Arts It was wonderful to meet all of you at open house or on the first day. We are off to a great start this year!! In reading, I have given a reading assignment. Everyone is required to read an AR book at their reading level and then pass a test on that book at 70 % or higher. Also, our spelling tests will be on Thursdays this year. I will send home the words on Fridays so that everyone can get a good start on studying them. Math My favorite unit is our first unit! Geometry! We will be learning about lines and shapes, and will be using different fun tools. At the end of the unit we will be doing an art project using all of the fun things that we learned.

We will discuss and practice bus, playground, fire, bike and personal safety. Ask your child about everything we learn during this unit!
